The Numerous Costs of Migraines

Migraine, Headache, Natural Relief, Drug FreeMigraines are a problem around the world. They are disabling to those that suffer from them. Up to 46% of people worldwide suffer from some type of a headache, migraines being at 11%. In the USA, 36 million people have recurring headaches. How does this affect finances?

Yearly, 113 million work days are lost that cost employers a total of $13 billion dollars. Health care costs are $50 billion annually. Why is it so expensive? Many people have co-pays for numerous visits to the doctor to try to find a cure for their pain. Advanced studies are being done to try to find new medications or treatments to help patients cope. Many prescription medications are not covered by insurance. Even after all of this, many times the treatment does not work, causing people to seek other means of relief.

One area of treatment that has had success is that of upper cervical chiropractic care. We seek to help patients with migraines see some relief using our natural methods. Our focus is on restoring proper function to the nervous system by realigning the atlas (C1) bone of the upper neck vertebrae. This area of the neck has a vital function in protecting the brainstem and making sure the body is working properly. If a misalignment is found here, headaches are often a symptom.

study was done of 100 patients with migraine headaches that all presented with a misalignment of the atlas bone. They were put under the care of an upper cervical chiropractor, and it was found that after 1 – 2 adjustments their headache symptoms improved in every case.

We use a very specific and gentle technique that causes no further pain. The natural relief provided can have long-lasting effects for those that suffer and can save them money that would be spent on numerous treatments that often lead to disappointment.
